Baseball, What Else?

I know, I know, it has been almost a month since my last post...again. Whew time flies when you are busy! We are full swing into summer, and plan on spending lots of time swimming, playing ball, and hanging out with friends. I am sure the house will get neglected again this summer, but if I spend as much time outside of it as possible, maybe I won't notice!

I just wanted to share a few clips from Austin's last T-Ball game (and brag a little bit). He has had some very exciting games this year, but the last two have been awesome. In his last game, Austin had 2 unassisted double plays, caught three line drives and made a total of six outs by himself, as well as fielded the ball and made a throw to 1st for another out. His hitting was on fire as well. We won 20-5.

The game before that one was a nail biter. We were playing a team that we had beaten before, so I think we felt pretty confident going into it. The first two innings were a disaster! We had multiple base running errors, strike outs and outs for throwing the bat with kids who have never had that problem before. We started the 3rd inning, and last as the hour time limit was approaching, up 16-14. We all knew that the game would be over as soon as the other team got to 17. First batter up hit one right to Austin who fielded it and threw it to our 1st baseman cleanly. One out. Second batter came up, ground ball to Austin who fielded it and threw it to first, but our 1st baseman missed it, so the batter ended up rounding the bases for a homerun. The score is now 16-15, with one out. Third batter up, line drive to Austin, who snatches it for out number 2. Crowd goes crazy. Fourth batter up, ground ball to Austin, who fielded it and threw to first baseman, who again missed it, but scrambled for it and touched first base a second before the batter. Out number three and we won the game. This mom was horse by the time the game was over. You would have thought we won the world series. It was so exciting. I just love to watch my son play ball!!!
