Resolutions

I am not one for making New Year's Resolutions. OK, so in truth I really am not one for keeping New Year's Resolutions. I lose interest and/or forget my resolutions usually by January 3rd or 4th. Which is why I waited to post these, so at least I will last longer than last year. Even though I don't believe that you should wait until the first of the year to set goals, I like the symbolism of resolutions and the "fresh start" of a new year. That being said, I am going to post my resolutions here, for the whole world (aka my 3-4 faithful followers) to see, so that maybe I will be motivated to follow through on them. So far I am not doing so well with most. I really am going to start tomorrow...

  • Lose 20 pounds, preferably by the end of March.
  • Keep the 20 pounds off, preferably forever.
  • Eat healthier (which may be a problem as Brian got a fry daddy for Christmas and has been frying everything in the house. As I write this I am eating the fried pickles and zucchini he just made, yummy.
  • Exercise at least 4-5 times per week. This includes doing more than just getting on and off of the couch 20 times per night to get another snack.
  • Watch less TV. Especially less of the food network that Brian is addicted to that just makes me hungry.
  • Read more, preferably to my kids.
  • Yell less.
  • Stay in better touch with new and old friends.

OK, so here are my resolutions, best not to have too many. Start small I always say. Anyone else make any resolutions this year?

LOL :) I love your resolutions! I hope you can stick w/them! That is so funny about Brian and Food Network, because that is a big hit in our house! Jason watches it a lot of the weekends, and usually flips over if he gets home in time, to see what Rachel Ray is doing. We've gotten a lot of good ideas from Good Eats, Alton Brown's show. I got Jason one of his books. I don't really make resolutions, because they are too easy to break. I'd rather call them "goals"...hee, hee! My goal is to read something every night, even if it's only a page or two. I do pretty well with that for a while, until I get in a music/tv groove. I constantly make a goal for working out, which again, lasts for a while, then I get too busy, tired, etc. My biggest goal for this year is to get some kind of balance between my home and work stuff. I hate not having my house as picked up as it used to be, and not getting things cleaned in a timely manner. Over Xmas break, I actually ENJOYED the deep cleaning that I got to do, and missed it! Does that make me sick? LOL :)
LOVE YOU GUYS!

Adore the new picture on the top of the blog.
