Another Month Gone...

I continue to be shocked and amazed at how fast time goes, and of how much I seem to repeat myself on this blog...even though I only post once a month. I guess I am long overdue for an update, my apologies as usual.

Things have been crazy in the Miller household. It is officially summertime around here; the kids' last day of school was on the 23rd. Aubrey is now a big Kinder-gardener, she got through Pre-K with flying colors (mostly) and is well on her way to reading big girl books! Austin is a 4th grader, which is surreal. He is so quickly turning into an amazing young man, no longer the little boy I have grown to know.  I know it won't be long and he will be off to college...(sniff sniff).

Our lives are consumed with baseball right now. Aubrey is doing great in T-ball, and the girls are learning and improving so much. It has been a lot of fun watching them play. I think her season runs through June. So between her games, both the kids' practices at least twice a week, and Austin's tournaments almost every weekend, we have baseball pretty much everyday. Every second it feels like. Because if we are not playing it, the boys are watching it.

Austin has been in a tournament almost every weekend since April. His team has been doing really well for the most part. They took first in one tournament and second in another, and have played some really good ball (other than Memorial Weekend where they went 0-6). Austin is doing great though. This past weekend we played in a Kid-Pitch tournament, and even though we lost 6 in a row, Austin got to pitch 2 innings. He struck out 4, and gave up no runs! And the bonus was that Grandma and Papa were here to watch him.

We have been blessed with lots of family this past month, which for many reasons has been wonderful including giving me the deadline to clean my house. Because we all know how I struggle with that...

Brian's dad and his wife were here the beginning of May for the annual coin show. We had a wonderful time eating yummy food, visiting and buying pennies. Austin is really getting into coin collecting, and spent his gift money from this past year on a few pennies. He wanted to spend more but we had to set some limits! My mom and dad were here over Memorial Day weekend, and among all the baseball, my mom and I managed to paint Aubrey's room. She now has a "big girl" purple room, sans Winnie the Pooh (I cried a little inside). And, my sister is coming this next weekend, so we are looking forward to dragging her to baseball games as well.

Today, on our only weekend day off from baseball in I can't remember how long, we went to 'Family Day' at the Redhawks with a good friend from work who had extra tickets. Even when we have a break from baseball, we pick baseball activities to go and do. They had fun stuff for the kids to do that included hitting balls off of the T, pitching into buckets, and bouncing down blow up slides. We also got posters with signed autographs and got to meet some of the Redhawks players. I think Daddy enjoyed it as much as the kids. We had a fun time and are looking forward to taking in our first Redhawks game tomorrow night. Because we just can't get enough baseball around here...

I am only going to work three days a week this summer, so am looking forward to another summer full of swimming, friends, baseball and goofing off as much as possible. We have already had a few swimming adventures, and this mommy has already had her first sunburn of the season. I am always so good about putting sunscreen on the kiddos, thankfully, but often neglect myself. I must do better...

Until next month...
