Good Old Fashioned Sprinkler Fun

We are trying to spend as much time in the water this summer, and have gone swimming several times already. The kids love it, and it really is the only way to be outside because it is so HOT! But the other day, we (and by 'we' I mean me) didn't feel like gathering up all of our stuff and heading to the pool, so we did the next best thing. We put on our suits (and by 'we', I mean the kids. This girl doesnt get in a swimming suit in the front yard where everyone can drive by and see, what are you crazy?!), hooked up the sprinkler, and headed outside for some fun. Aubrey was a bit leery at first, but soon got the hang of things after watching Austin.

Aubrey's Song

I have mentioned before that Aubrey loves everything Elmo. This includes the theme song to his segment on Sesame Street, Elmo's World. Just thought you all would enjoy her rendition as much as I do. I am helping her out a little, please excuse my tone-deaf singing.

T-Ball

Austin had his first T-Ball game on Tuesday, he was so excited all day. He did great, and had a lot of fun. They only play two innings, so they bat twice and are in the field twice. Both of his at bats were awesome, way past all of the players. And he played first base the first inning, then outfield the last. He got a few runners out, although they get to stay in play. He even slid into home. He really is pretty good at baseball, but I guess he should be by now...

Things I Love

Things I Love About My Kids:

-I love that one of Aubrey's eyes are darker than the other one, and that I am probably the only person who would notice this.

-I love that Aubrey calls Austin "Nahnie", and when she talks to him or about him this is the name she uses.

-I love that Aubrey shouts out "Mommy I Love You!", only it sounds more like "Mommy I owe you!"

-I love that Austin loves to color and draw, and must say he is quite artistic.

-I love all of Aubrey's curly hair.

-I love that every teacher Austin has had so far has said what a wonderful and good child he is.

-I love when Aubrey comes and hugs my leg, even if she is only wiping her nose on my pants.

-I love that when I ask Aubrey for a kiss, she will first kiss my mouth, then my nose.

-I love to hear both Austin and Aubrey giggle, and I love to hear them both sing.

-I love to watch them dance.

-I love how patient Austin is with Aubrey (most of the time) and will sit and do ABC's or 123's with her and just read books.

-I love that they can both recite scenes from Rocky.

-I love that Aubrey adores her big brother and will follow him around doing whatever he does, including jumping off of furniture, climbing up on the table, or running around shouting Hut 2, 3, 4!!

-I love that Austin is sensitive and cares about other people's feelings, most of the time ahead of him own. He has always been one to share with his friends and has no problems letting others go first.

-I love that they both love to cuddle, and will give as many hugs per day that I need from them.

-I love that I get to be their mom, and am very thankful they are mine.
