The Best Sound in the World

Aubrey thinks her big brother is pretty funny. He can do the silliest, strangest things, and she will just think it is hysterical. I love it.

(You will have to pause the music at the bottom of the page to hear the giggles...)

Blossoms

Tomorrow is the last day of school; Austin will officially be a 1st grader. My not so little boy is growing up. We are really looking forward to summer with big plans of baseball games, swimming, picnics at the zoo, trips to the park, cookouts and camp outs. I love this time of year. Everything is green and fresh and in bloom, with promises of a beautiful and fun-filled summer. I know that in 3 short month's time I will be looking back wondering where the time went, getting ready for another busy school year. But for now, I plan to stop and smell the magnolias.

Too Quiet

This is what I find when things get too quiet in my house...

Springtime

It is spring in Oklahoma. We have had rain for 2 weeks straight (except on soccer practice nights, much to Brian's dismay) and my allergies are about to kill me. I have been itching to get some yard work done, but can't find an hour or two between the rain and the rain. I know as soon as the rain stops it will just be "too hot" for me to do anything, so the yard will continue to look like a jungle. But very green!

Anyway, I did get outside with the kids last week to take some pictures with my new camera-I bought it right before the Disney Cruise and am still learning about it. So here are some pics of my favorite subjects, in black and white.

Coin Collecting

Austin went to his first coin show this weekend. Daddy has been collecting coins since he was around Austin's age, and has gotten Austin interested in collecting also. We got Austin two Lincoln Cent coin books for his birthday, and he has had fun going through pennies to find ones he needs for his books. He was very excited to go to the coin show, and took money out of his OWN piggy bank to buy some pennies. Ironically, the very first penny he bought, a 1955-S, was the very first penny Brian remembers buying as a little boy as well. (Of course Daddy helped him pick it out). Austin spent a whole $5 on about 60 pennies, including a role of S pennies for $3.75. Go figure. He still doesn't really understand the concept of money, but he is learning. He was just excited he took one bill out of his piggy bank ($20) and got to put two back ($10 and $5)! And both Austin and Aubrey got some free coins, just because they are so cute! They each got a gold plated statehood quarter, and a new 2009 Log Cabin Penny. They were both very excited, although Aubrey just wanted to throw hers on the floor and watch Austin pick it up for her over and over.

Austin is going through the pennies to find ones he needs. I think his favorite part was coming home and putting them in his book, which are filling up quickly. I also think Daddy is very happy he and Austin have another hobby to share!

Aubrey got tired of the coin show, so we went out to the lobby and watched the geese outside.
