Throwing Rocks

One of our most favorite things to do is go to the park by the lake, and throw rocks in the water. Austin could spend hours hunting for rocks and trying to make the biggest splash possible. He is getting pretty good at skipping rocks too. Yesterday was beautiful, so we took advantage of the sunshine and went to the lake. Aubrey really got into the sport too. She also has quite an arm...

Hunting for the perfect rocks.

Austin supervising her last throw.

Clapping for Big Brother. Look at that wind up!

Aubrey is watching the geese coming our way. They thought we were throwing food for them. Scroungers.

"Hi duh, duh" (AKA "ducks").

What a handsome boy.

I tried not to let a little dirt spoil our fun, but you can bet I had a little anxiety about the mud on the brand new Chucks. I guess that is all part of the experience! By the time we got home, we were all covered.

The Newest Rookie

Aubrey likes baseball too (anyone suprised?). She likes to hit the ball off of the T, even though the bat is about as big as she is. We can't wait until she is old enough to play T-ball too. She isn't very good at sharing with her brother though.

Here is Austin at about a year old. Both my kids were born with baseball in their blood.

Random Stuff

The other day Austin and Aubrey were playing in Austin's room. I was on the phone with my mom, when I heard Aubrey scream and cry. So I casually walked back to where they were, knowing it wasn't an emergency as I hear this particular scream and cry several times per day and knew no one was bleeding. I asked Austin why she was crying. His response? "Because I licked her". What do I say to that? "Austin, please don't lick you sister." My mom was crying she was laughing so hard. I know she was having flashbacks from the things my sister and I used to do to each other. Kids...

Aubrey loves to stick her tongue out at Austin. And she does it "correctly"; usually after he has taken something away from her or told her no or tormented her. She just sticks it out and walks away. And he is such a sensitive little soul, that he usually gets his feelings hurt when she does it. I can't help but laugh...

Aubrey is talking a lot more now. She says mommy, daddy, bubba (brother), ish (fish), ush (push), bubbles (or something resembling it), mine (of course), bye bye, hi and eat eat. She even blows kisses, which makes my whole day. But her favorite word is "Ocky", for Rocky. Brian has 'corrupted' our other child, she is a full blown Rocky fan too. Whenever she hears the music, just as Austin did, she shoots her arms strait up in the air and runs around chanting "Ocky, Ocky!".

Could she be any cuter?
